Epoxy floor paint may gradually appear aging, peeling, cracking in the use process, or film damage caused by long-term wear and tear, affecting the normal use of the floor. At this time, it is necessary to repair the old floor paint film. The following skills should be paid attention to when repairing. When corrosion, peeling, foaming, cracking, scaling or overall cracking occur on the painted surface, the damaged coating should be completely removed until the exposed surface of the substrate is exposed, and then re-coated according to the construction technology of epoxy floor paint. Before painting, the matching system of the original coatings must be clarified and carried out strictly in accordance with the matching system of the coatings. After checking that there is no defect in the retained film, the paint variety is determined. If the primer is epoxy or waterborne polyurethane floor coatings, it can retain a good film, and the choice range of coatings that need to be matched on it is wider. Most coatings can be directly coated. However, if it is volatile and dry paint such as acrylic acid and chlorinated rubber, it is easy to have bottom biting problems, so it is necessary to choose the appropriate paint when applying.
(2) The old paint film is too thick, brittle or not suitable for the newly designed paint, which should be removed.
(3) Remove the invalid part of the old paint film until it is intact, hard and well-adhered. There must be no rust or bubbles under it. It has a high adhesion to the substrate and can not be inserted into the blunt blade under it. Dust removal, oil and other attachments are required on the surface of the paint film.
(4) The firmly adhered paint film left at the edge of the area for re-coating must be processed into pinnate shape to make the re-coated surface have a smooth appearance. In order to enhance the adhesion strength with the new coatings, the old coatings can generally be wooled.
(5) The floor paint material used for re-coating is generally the same as the material used for the initial coating. Other kinds of coatings which conform to the matching principle can be coated on the old paint film, but the local experiments should be done in advance. If epoxy is used as primer, it can be coated with various kinds of coatings, but in order to prevent poor adhesion, it can be coated with "transition layer" and so on.
